We are dedicated to compassionately caring for neurologic patients and implementing the latest diagnostic and treatment methods. We are committed to taking time to explain things in understandable terms, and we believe in patient education. We are focused on involving the patient in diagnostic and treatment decisions.
We now have office hours as well as EMG and MRI appointments on Saturdays!
Dr. Andrew Gordon
Dr. Gordon is Board Certified in Neurology. He sees patients in the Libertyville/ Vernon Hills office, Rolling Meadows/ Arlington Heights office/ North Brook office and Lake Barrington office. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and attended medical school at Northwestern University. He completed neurology residency and fellowship in neurophysiology at Rush University Medical Center where he also served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Ahmer Ali
Dr. Ahmer Ali is board-certified in neurology and fellowship trained in epilepsy/EEG, neurophysiology and sleep medicine. He completed his adult neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship (with advanced training in both EEG and EMG) at the University of Chicago. He completed his sleep medicine fellowship at Northwestern University.
Dr. Ahmir Khan
Dr. Ahmir Khan was raised in the western suburbs. He is a graduate of Northwestern University and received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College Of Medicine along with his Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics. He did his Internal Medicine Internship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and his Neurology Residency and Fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Aslam Khaja
Dr. Khaja joins Northwest Neurology after working at Northwestern Medicine as a neuro-critical care/vascular neurology attending. Prior to working at Northwestern, he was an attending neurologist at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he also worked as a neuro-critical care/vascular neurology specialist.
Dr. Barry Bikshorn
Dr. Barry Bikshorn was born in 1957 and raised in the Chicago area. He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. Dr. Bikshorn did a medical internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and then returned to Rush to complete his neurology residency.
Dr. Daniele Anderson
Dr. Daniele Anderson was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. She graduated from Rolling Meadows High School in 1987. She received a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. While there, she met her husband, as they were both members of the USC Trojan Marching Band. (Fight On!)
Dr. Donald Kuhlman
Dr. Kuhlman attended the University of Illinois for medical school. In addition to internship and residency, he completed an Electroencephalography/Epilepsy fellowship at the University of Illinois as well.
Dr. Erin McGonigle
Dr. Erin McGonigle is a board certified Physiatrist specializing in Neurorehabilitation. Her practice in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation focuses on returning patients to their previous level of function and optimizing their physical well-being.
Dr. George Katsamakis
Dr. George Katsamakis sees patients in the Libertyville/ Vernon Hills office, Rolling Meadows/ Arlington Heights office/ North Brook office and Lake Barrington office. He has devoted his interest in Neurology to the care of patients with Multiple Sclerosis. Prior to joining Northwest Neurology, he was an Assistant Professor at the Rush University Multiple Sclerosis Center, managing complex MS cases as well as participating in and spearheading novel therapeutic trials in the field.
Dr. Jeffrey Farbman
Dr. Jeffrey Farbman, a native New Yorker, completed his undergraduate education at Brooklyn College and then earned a Master of Science degree in neurobiology at Northwestern University. He is a graduate of Rush Medical College of Rush University where he earned his MD degree and served his residency in neurology at The University of Chicago.
Dr. Jordan Samuels
Dr. Samuels is Board Certified in Neurology and Psychiatry. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where he majored in molecular and cellular biology. Dr. Samuels attended Rush University Medical School, class of 2009, and he completed his neurology residency at Rush in 2013.
Dr. Karim Nahra
Dr. Karim Nahra was born and raised in the Chicago area. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois. He performed his medical internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
Dr. Mark Rubin
Dr. Rubin is a fellowship-trained, board-certified hospital and vascular neurologist ("neurohospitalist") with special expertise in neurovascular ultrasound (carotid ultrasonography and transcranial Doppler).
Dr. Yumna Saeed
Dr. Yumna Saeed joins Northwest Neurology after completing her sleep fellowship at Northwestern University. She received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed her internal medicine internship and neurology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Manisha Sahay
Dr. Manisha Sahay joins Northwest Neurology after finishing her fellowship in Women's Neurology at Northwestern University. She received her medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and completed her medical internship and neurology residency at Northwestern University.
Dr. Sanford Sherman
Dr. Sanford Sherman has been practicing at Northwest Neurology since 1988. He was born and raised in Chicago. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his Medical Degree from Rush University Medical School. He interned in Internal Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center and he completed his Residency in Neurology and Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Sohal Patel
Dr. Patel is a board-certified Neurohospitalist serving Alexian Brothers Medical Center, St. Alexius Medical Center, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Advocate Sherman Hospital, Northwest Community Hospital, and Advocate Condell Hospital.
Dr. Aaron Malina
Dr. Aaron Malina was raised in Lincolnwood, graduating from Niles West High School. He earned his bachelors degree from the University of Michigan and his doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology.He completed his internship at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago and his fellowship in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (Detroit Medical Center).
Andrew Grover, PA
Andrew Grover is a native of Wisconsin. He completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and then moved to Illinois to attend Physician Assistant School in 2008. Andrew received his Physician Assistant Degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 2010.
Jennifer Cote, N.P.
Jennifer Cote is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and Critical Care Nurse. She went to school at Olivet Nazarene University, in Bourbonnais IL. Her passion for neurology started with her career as a nurse at a level one trauma center within a neuro/surgical ICU. This leads her to her passion for patients with concussive head injuries due to a related traumatic event.
Kelly Schaeffer, N.P
Kelly Schaeffer is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and in Nursing prior to obtaining her Master’s degree in Nursing from Northern Illinois University. Her passion for neurology started with her career where she worked as a neurology nurse.
Lisa Jackson, NP
Lisa Jackson is a native of Baltimore, MD. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She began her Master’s studies at Johns Hopkins University, transferring to The University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree.
Rumyana Krouleva, NP
Rumyana Krouleva is a Certified Nurse Practitioner. She completed Chamberlain University Masters of Nursing. She is very passionate and interested in practicing neurology within a hospital setting. Being in the hospital setting allows her to see patients with all areas of neurological needs. Her primary interests include complex migraines, stroke syndromes, and neuropathy. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family.
Carole Feintech, BS, LMT
Carole obtained her Bachelor of Science in Mental Health/ Human Services from The University of Toledo with subsequent studies in guidance and counseling. She studied massage therapy at Harper College in Palatine. She has worked in multiple areas including pacemaker assessment, hospice, and surgical patient education.
